The Mighty-Mag is a fully automatic coolant filtration unit
designed to remove ferrous material to five micron in size from
industrial liquid coolant. This device is ideal for CNC, EDM,
machining, and grinding operations and the uses are almost unlimited
in all manufacturing areas that generate ferrous metal particulate
waste.
This process can greatly extend the life of liquid coolant and
filter media. The Mighty-Mag will expand tooling life, reduce scrap
rate, and greatly decrease scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance
downtime.
The Mighty-Mag has been specifically designed and manufactured by
Synergy Applications, Inc. for the CNC, machining, and grinding
industries. This new product has many unique features.
The unit's main housing is available in all aluminum or stainless
steel. Its solid design makes it almost impervious to all
chemicals.
Once the unit is connected to the coolant system the contaminated
liquid is directed to a magnetic drum housing. The drum is turning
against the flow of the coolant at three RPM. The magnetic drum
removes most all-ferrous materials to five micron in size. The metal
contaminates attach to the drum as it rotates.
The unit is designed with the industry's only "continuous
contact, free floating wiper mechanism." As the drum rotates the
wiping mechanism cleans the magnetic drum surface continually on
each rotation. The metal waste is directed into a drop shoot away
from the coolant to be reclaimed as scrap. The ferrous free coolant
travels away from the drum and into a port at the bottom of the
unit.
The Mighty-Mag is available with flow rates up to 30 GPM
operating capacity and runs on 110/120 VAC. Its cost effective
design makes it an economically feasible option for individual
production machines. The unit works dynamically as a stand-alone
coolant filtration unit, or is easily integrated into a complete
filtration system utilizing bag or cartridge filtration methods. The
Mighty-Mag may be purchased by itself or with an optional carbon
steel or stainless steel 50 gallon clean coolant holding reservoir
that is mounted beneath the unit.
